APOLLO'S STORY
Apollo first clicked into skis at three years old.
He cried nearly the entire way down a long blue run — but he kept going. And when he reached the bottom, a skier was born.
As he grew, skiing became more than a sport. It was where he felt focused. Free. At home in his body and in the mountains. He worked hard, pushed himself, and dreamed bigger than most kids his age. He loved going fast, going big, and challenging himself. Skiing was where he felt most alive.
But when Apollo chose to live authentically and take on a new name that felt true to who he was, everything changed. A few years ago, our family took a new last name - Gravity. Apollo embraced our new identity and adjusted his first name to match who he is.
Unfortunately, many of the kids on his ski team turned on him. They wouldn’t accept him any more simply because he changed his name. What started as teasing turned into constant bullying — even after he spoke to those kids and we reached out to coaches. He went from having ski friends to feeling like an outcast. The environment became unhealthy for him. Eventually, we had to make the tough decision to move him to another team until the end of season. It had gotten so bad that he nearly quit skiing altogether. It sucked to be bullied by his own team and by kids that he wanted to have as friends.
We eventually moved to a new state and hoped for a fresh start, but the bullying followed.
When some kids at his new middle school saw his old name on a school document, it escalated quickly. A group of boys he didn’t even know confronted him at PE, mocked him, and made inappropriate comments about him. He stood up for himself and told them to stop. They didn’t. Later that day, they attacked Apollo from behind. Law enforcement was involved and a police investigation was made. Thankfully it wasn't worse and we chose not to press charges — but we knew we had to get Apollo where he belonged.
We applied to Wy’East Mountain Academy in Oregon — a place where young, up-and-coming skiers train with top-level coaches, receive a strong education, and are surrounded by others who share their drive and dedication. A place where being unique isn’t punished — it’s respected. It is a place where he can chase his life's goal of competing in the Freeride World Tour.
Apollo was just accepted into the program at Wy'East and could use some help getting there.
We applied without knowing how we would afford it, trusting that if it was meant to be, a way would open.
Instead of shrinking back from what he’d been through, Apollo made a powerful choice — to turn his story into something that could inspire others. He began designing his brand using his name. What was once used against him, he decided to lean fully into to help him get into ski school.
That’s how the brand Apollo Gravity was born.
This brand exists to help fund Apollo’s training, education, and path forward — and to stand for something bigger. Every piece you wear helps support his journey to greatness and reminds kids everywhere that they don’t have to hide who they are to belong. All proceeds go to pay for his schooling at Wy'East Mountain Academy.
When you wear Apollo Gravity gear, you’re not just wearing clothing.
You’re joining Team Apollo as one of his sponsors.
You’re standing up for kids who are unique.
For kids who choose authenticity over fitting in.
For kids who refuse to give up on what they love.
Apollo works very hard to be his best. He shows up. He trains hard. He believes in himself.
And now, he’s inviting you to be part of that journey.
If you believe in Apollo Gravity.
If you believe in protecting kids who are finding their way.
If you believe dreams are worth fighting for —
Welcome to Team Apollo.
